Fees

Woonona Medical Practice is not a bulk billing practice. We ask that all accounts are paid at the time of consultation or further fees may apply. Payment can be made by debit or credit card, we can also accept EFT (direct deposit). We do not accept cash or cheque.

Please note:

Appointment fees are charged based on the time spent with the doctor – if you book a standard 15 min appointment and this runs over higher fees apply.
Fees are the same for face to face, phone and video consultations.
Saturday appointments: Appointments on Saturdays incur an additional $10 charge to the fees listed above.
Discount fee applicable for patients with valid Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, all other patients are charged the Practice Fee. If you are having financial difficulties please discuss this with your doctor.
The fee schedule above only applies to standard consultations, higher fees apply for integrative medicine, chronic pelvic pain and menopause clinic appointments, please contact reception for further information.
Worker’s Compensation/CTP Insurance consultations are billed at the relevant SIRA rates, patients are responsible for payment until all claim details have been provided (and in the event the claim is declined).
Some consultations for example employment or insurance medicals are not rebatable by Medicare, please ask reception for fee information.
Fees and rebates for minor surgical procedures are variable. If you have questions please do not hesitate to ask our friendly staff.
Prolonged consults can only be booked with the doctors prior approval.

Please be advised that for longer appointments or those with multiple issues the fee will be higher and an appropriate appointment must be made.

Once your consultation fee is paid, we will send your claim directly to Medicare and you will receive your rebate via direct deposit into your bank account that is stored with Medicare. If you do not wish for us to submit on your behalf, please ask reception for your receipt and you can claim online though Medicare.

Late Cancellation/Non-Attendance Fees

We require 4 hours’ notice to cancel appointments, some appointments have longer notice periods, reception will let you know if this applies to your appointment.

Ear Microsuction Fees

Depending on the complexity and duration of the procedure, and whether you are having both or just one ear microsuctioned, the fee payable on the day varies. Please contact reception staff for more information.

Please note, even if wax is not present a consult fee will still be charged.

Telehealth

We prefer you to come in to see your doctor in person, as we believe this allows us to provide you with better quality care. However we recognise that there are some circumstances when a telephone or video consultation is necessary. You can book these appointments via reception, for single appointments only.

Our standard fees to apply for telephone and video appointments, and a deposit is required at booking. To be eligible for a Medicare rebate, you need to have had a face to face appointment at the practice in the last 12 months.
